How it goes
You write the exchange
Type one line per turn of speech: the name, a colon, then what the character says. A line with no name carries on from the one above.
Each name finds a voice
The characters found in your text appear underneath, each with a voice to pick and, should you want one, a reading tone that belongs to that character alone.
The scene comes back assembled
You start the generation, the lines are synthesized in the order written, then joined end to end. The whole conversation reaches you as one file.

How many characters can I have speaking?
Up to five characters, each with a voice and a reading style of their own. One exchange can hold up to sixty lines.
Do the voices talk over each other?
Each line is generated separately then placed after the previous one. The exchange therefore runs cleanly, one voice at a time, which makes any single turn easy to spot and replace.
Can I write a long speech without repeating the name?
Yes, a line that does not start with a name followed by a colon continues the turn above it.
Can each character have a tone of its own?
Yes, a reading style sits alongside the voice you chose for that character. The one in a hurry and the one who hesitates then sound clearly different in the finished scene.
Does the stop button cancel the generation?
It ends the wait in your browser while the work carries on on our servers. The scene you started runs through to the end.
